“Room to Grow”

Painting of colorful flowers, including red roses, blue flowers, and yellow-green daisies, on a dark background, hanging on a white wall.
A bedroom featuring a corner with a wooden nightstand, a green book, a small dark vase with green foliage, a bronze and black table lamp, a colorful floral painting on the wall, part of a bed with navy and beige pillows, a patterned area rug on a wooden floor, and a mustard-colored curtain.

Gardens embody the juxtaposition of unruly and delicate. In this painting, I wanted to step into that feeling using both loosely drawn flowers and bolder representations. I intentionally wanted some to feel as if they are fading into the background while others are taking obvious shape. I left empty space between as a reminder that as we change over time–letting go of parts of us while new ones bloom–there is always room to grow.
